Share England international Sophia Candappa has signed for Surrey Storm ahead of the 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague season. The 23-year-old signs from Netball London Live rivals Hertfordshire Mavericks and will challenge for the Centre and Wing Attack position this season. Candappa received her first England senior call-up in 2011 having featured in various national age-group squads, and was selected in the long squad ahead of the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney. She began her Superleague career at Loughborough Lightning, bringing experience of two other clubs to the court for Storm this season. Following her signing, Sophia said: “I am extremely excited at the opportunity of joining Surrey Storm for the upcoming season. “I look forward to the challenge of helping Storm in retaining the title and working with Tamsin Greenway and the rest of the team.” With pre-season well underway for Storm already, Sophia will join up with squad in the coming weeks.
