Surrey Storm is pleased to announce the signing of Scottish international Bethany Sutherland.

Read more here:

Bethany, whose natural position is either in the wing defence or goal defence role, first became an international star when she made her Scotland under 17s debut at just 14 years old and featured as the youngest member of the Scottish Thistles World Cup squad for the tournament in Sydney.

However she’s not the only member of her family to play on the big stage, as her mum was an England international showing how the sport has run through her family.

Sutherland made Sky Sports’ ‘Ones to Watch’ list ahead of the 2016 season, which she spent with Hertfordshire Mavericks, and will certainly be one to keep an eye on for the Storm this season.

After signing for the team, Bethany said “I am so excited about playing for Surrey Storm this year and wearing duck egg blue!

“I can’t wait to work alongside these very talented girls and of course the new coaching staff, to learn and achieve great things with them in the Superleague this season.”

With two slots still left to fill in the 2017 Vitality Netball Superleague squad, we will be announcing one more signing early next week before tickets go on general sale on Monday 21st November!
