Vitality Netball Super League

The brand new Vitality Netball Superleague gets underway this evening in Hatfield as Hertfordshire Mavericks take on Team Northumbria.

The 2011 Champions, under the guidance of head coach Robyn Broughton, welcome the team from the north-east hoping to replicate the large win they secured last season at the Hertfordshire Sports Village.

Northumbria have been dealt an early blow as pre-season import Katarina Cooper is unavailable for Friday night’s clash, with Victoria Burgess coming into the squad.

A triple header follows on Saturday with a derby clash between Celtic Dragons and Team Bath starting at 4pm.

A big fixture in the East Midlands follows as 2016 runners-up Manchester Thunder travel to Loughborough Lightning.

The action comes to a close tomorrow with last year’s champions Surrey Storm hosting debutants Severn Stars in Guildford.

Round 1 is completed on Tuesday night in Glasgow as Sky Sports cover the mouth-watering contest between Sirens and Wasps Netball.
