Share Gabby Marshall (#84) and Razia Quashie (#80) have re-signed with benecosMavericks for the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague season. 2019 will be Marshall’s second season in the black and purple and Quashie’s third. Marshall was instrumental in the midcourt for Mavericks during the 2018 season and was recently announced as a member of the England Roses’ full-time programme. She had this to say about her return to benecosMavericks: “I’m really looking forward to returning to benecosMavericks this year. “Whilst last season didn’t end as planned, we laid some great foundations and combinations that we can continue to build on this season. “I am also excited to work with our new signings as we aim to push for the top four and beyond.” Director of Netball, Kathryn Ratnapala, was impressed with what Gabby brought to benecosMavericks in her first season. She said: “Gabs is an incredibly hard working, resilient and skilful athlete and one I was keen to keep for the 2019 season. “She does not stop working in the midcourt and links our two ends really well.” Quashie has been a stalwart of the benecosMavericks’ defence. Known and loved for her flying interceptions, she is a member of the England Roses Futures squad and was recently selected to the England Roses team to face the Sunshine Girls in a test series in Jamaica in October. Raz had this to say about the season ahead: “I am excited to be back for another season and back in a black and purple dress. “I’m very much looking forward to building on last season’s performance and fighting for a spot at the top of the league.” Kat Ratnapala added: “Raz was paramount to our 2018 season and I have no doubt there is more to come from her in 2019. “She is already a force to be reckoned with at the back and is going from strength to strength every year.” Gabby and Raz join Sasha Corbin, George Fisher, Kadeen Corbin and Lindsay Keable on the 2019 squad roster.
