Share We are delighted to announce that the Vitality Player of the Month for February is Mary Cholhok from Loughborough Lightning. The 6ft 7 goal shooter has given headaches to defenders throughout February and has been improving every game. Having only won once in their opening three games, Lightning’s form took a sharp turn for the better in February which coincided with Mary finding her feet, developing stronger connections with teammates and gaining a greater understanding of the league and its challenges. Mary’s shooting prowess (90% average success rate) has helped fire Lightning up the Vitality Netball Superleague table and into the top four. During February, Lightning only lost to Team Bath Netball and pulled off a top performance to beat Manchester Thunder away from home to end the Black and Yellow’s unbeaten start to the season. Mary has contributed considerably as Loughborough’s average goals scored per game has risen from 48 in January to 68 throughout February and boasts impressive shooting stats herself. When Lightning beat Thunder Mary scored 55 out of 65 goals and followed this up with a successful shooting percentage of 98% against Surrey Storm. The road Mary has travelled to reach the Vitality Netball Superleague has been full of obstacles and challenge.
