Abernethy becomes the fifth Sirens signing for the 2020 season

Australian star Gia Abernethy returns to Scottish soil for another season with Strathclyde Sirens.

The formidable Gia Abernethy makes a return to Strathclyde Sirens following her first season with the club in 2019. As well as representing the Scottish side in the Vitality Netball Superleague, Gia has also represented Adelaide Thunderbirds in the Suncorp Super League and the U21 Australian National team.

Gia said: “I can’t wait to build on the relationships formed last season and embrace the challenges that come with a second season in the Vitality Netball Superleague.”

“This is the team that have given me the opportunity to play netball in a new country. It’s put me outside my comfort zone, helped challenge my character and grow as a person. I want to perform well for the Strathclyde Sirens because of that.”
