Sirens snap up Emma Barrie for a second season

Emma Barrie, aged just 17, will feature in the Strathclyde Sirens squad for the 2020 season. The 6-foot-4 super shooter has had extensive netball experience already having taken to court for the Scottish side in the Vitality Netball Superleague, competing in both U17 and U21 Netball Europe Championships, the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup, the 2018 Superclub Campaign as well as the recent 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

Barrie said“I am excited to be signing with the Strathclyde sirens this season as it gives me an opportunity to train and play with and against some of the best players within the super league competition.

“Being a Siren means passion, commitment and being a role model to inspire young girls coming through the ranks within the Scottish set up.”

Despite only being 17 Barrie caught the eye of pundits and fans throughout the 2019 and was nominated for the Sky Netball fans player of the year.

The Sirens shooter will be looking to build on her impressive form and help fire her side up the league.
