Share Surrey Storm have announced they will welcome former Saracens Mavericks shooter Ellie Kelk to the Sports Park Arena for the 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague season. The 21-year-old, a graduate of the Mavericks NPL system, made her Superleague debut in 2018 and has also appeared in three BUCS Finals for the University of Hertfordshire. “Leaving (Mavericks) was quite a tough decision, but I’m really excited to be part of Storm,” admitted Ellie, who plays both Goal Attack and Goal Shooter positions. “It’s a new adventure for me, to start afresh, but it’s great to be playing with some old team-mates and new ones as well – it’s going to be an exciting challenge. “Mikki talked a lot about team-work and the cohesiveness at Storm, and that we’re one big massive family – I can definitely see that in training, everyone has made me feel so welcome. It’s a great atmosphere and everybody is really pushing each other as well. Now I want to make sure I’m in the best physical shape possible for the start of the season.” “I am hugely excited to have such a young and promising prospect join us at Surrey Storm,” enthused Director of Netball, Mikki Austin. “Ellie is hard-working and cool under pressure, which is exactly what we need in that shooting circle. “She has worked incredibly hard on return from an ACL injury to be back to fitness, and I look forward to working together to see what she can achieve on court this season.” To stay up to date with the Vitality Netball Superleague, including player movements, tickets and the latest news make sure you sign up to the Vitality Netball Superleague mailing list, you can sign up here.
