Carter confirmed

Amy Carter is the tenth and final member of Manchester Thunder’s core squad to be confirmed for the 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

The 21-year old mid-courter, who is part of the 2019/2020 England Futures programme, returns to the Black and Yellows for the third season.

Carter said:

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming campaign and hopefully we can bring back the title to Manchester once again. I hope to see as many fans as possible at Belle Vue.”

Karen Greig, Thunder Director of Netball, said:

“It’s great to have Amy with us for another season. She has been an integral part of the squad over the last two seasons and for someone so young she plays with great maturity. I’m excited to continue to work with her and see her develop further and impact this squad.”

Amy’s return means that the Superleague Champions have now named all ten of their core squad for 2020 – the full list is:

Rebekah Airey
Eleanor Cardwell
Amy Carter
Emma Dovey
Laura Malcolm
Joyce Mvula
Ashleigh Neal
Lauren Ngwira
Caroline O’Hanlon
Kathryn Turner

Karen Greig added:

“It’s fantastic to have our registered 10 athletes locked in.

“The calibre of player and the potential this squad has is exciting – we have a number who can offer multiple positions giving us a range of combinations that we can put out on court, this stands us in good stead to compete with the best once again.

“We will be announcing our training partners over the coming weeks, and this will be a talented group of young players that will be ready to slot into the match day ten at any time.”
