Shooting sensation Barrie to return for Sirens

Shooting sensation Emma Barrie has been re-signed by Strathclyde Sirens. As one of the youngest players in the league over the past few seasons, Barrie has caught the eye of fans and pundits with her excellent performances after a breakout season in 2019.

Following an impressive 2019 season at the only age of 17, Barrie was nominated for the Sky Netball fans player of the year.

As the youngest squad member and a first-year student at the University of Strathclyde, Barrie returns to the Strathclyde Sirens squad for the 2021 season. The 6-foot-4 super shooter has had extensive netball experience already having taken to court for the Scottish side in the Vitality Netball Superleague, competing in both U17 and U21 Netball Europe Championships, the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup, the 2018 Superclub Campaign as well as the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

Emma Barrie said: “I couldn’t play the first three games last season unfortunately due to injury but one good thing to come out of lockdown as that I’ve been able to use this time to heal and rehabilitate which means I’m raring to go for the 20-21 season! I’m very excited to be back and I look forward to getting on court with the team.”
