Share Surrey Storm have announced that Australian Goal Keeper Leah Middleton has re-signed for the 2021 Superleague season. Leah was an instant hit in duck egg blue last season, impressing in her performances before the season was cut short. The Berkshire-born defender, whose family moved to Australia when she was a child, joined Storm last season from Queensland Firebirds and was named 2018 Queensland Fusion Player of the Year. Middleton will link up with Alima Priest and Niamh Cooper once again in the Storm defence. Delighted to return, Leah said: “I’m very excited to be returning to Storm for the 2021 season. It means a lot to me to represent this franchise as I believe we’re a club that is built on strong connections but also hard work and dedication, which made my decision very easy when given the opportunity to re-sign for the upcoming season. I’m very grateful to be able to wear the Storm dress for another year and hope to continue to build the combinations and success that we saw glimpses of previously.” Mikki Austin added: “Leah Middleton made her mark on the VNSL before it was unfortunately cut short. We were so happy with where Leah was going and the work she had been putting in so we are thrilled to re-sign her for the 2021 campaign. Previously a Queensland Firebird, Leah brings a wealth of experience and that Aussie grit that we are really looking forward to having her back in Duck Egg blue.” You can keep up to date with all the latest signing window news on our dedicated Transfers page or with our Twitter Moment.
