Share Ella Powell-Davies has made the short trip north to sign for Wasps netball from Superleague rivals Severn Stars. The two-time champions have ramped up their activity as we reach the end of the signing window with a flurry of announcements and Powell-Davies becomes the latest addition to Mel Mansfield’s 2021 squad. Wasps, who have never failed to make a Grand Final at the end of a full Superleague season, will be hoping to continue this sensational form as they go into their fifth season in search of a third Grand Final title. Ella Powell-Davies said: “I am so excited to be moving to Wasps this year, it is a fresh start and new challenge for me. I can’t wait to get started! Wasps is known for how professional it is and I can’t wait to be a part of that environment around such amazing and inspiring players and staff”. Wasps Netball head coach Mel Mansfield commented, “Season 20/21 brings Ella to Wasps and I am looking forward to giving Ella some new opportunities this season. I have kept a close eye on her progress over the last couple of seasons and coupled with her defensive versatility, she is a player I am keen to work with. Ella is a fantastic character who fits right in with our squad environment and I know we are going to enjoy working together.
