Share Celtic Dragons have shared the news that Christina Shaw will be making her Vitality Netball Superleague debut with Celtic Dragons in 2021. Shaw has been in Welsh age group squads from the age of 15 and made her international debut at the Netball Europe Open Championship in Cardiff in October 2017. Subsequently, she had been concentrating on her studies at the University of Exeter where she played netball in both the BUCS and English Premier leagues. Now, having graduated with a degree in biological sciences, Shaw feels ready to take on the challenge of the Superleague. She said: “I now feel VNSL is the perfect opportunity for me to progress my game even further. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to training with such a great team and seeing what we can achieve.” Director of Netball, Tania Hoffman, was pleased to see Shaw returning to forefront of elite Welsh netball. She said: “We are really excited to have Christina making her Superleague debut with us. Those who have followed Christina’s progress through age group netball and her rapid progression into the national side will know exactly what she is capable of. “Christina has rightly been concentrating on her education over the last few years. Now she is ready to give the Superleague her best shot and I think she will be gaining a lot of new fans once people see her on the Superleague court! “She is a very mature player for her age and I think that 2021 could be start of an exciting new chapter in Christina’s netball career.” You can keep up to date with all the latest signing window news on our dedicated Transfers page or with our Twitter Moment.
