Share Celtic Dragons have shared the news that Victoria Booth will be joining the franchise for the 2021 Vitality Netball Superleague season. Booth, who hails from Tring in Hertfordshire, has spent the last three seasons playing in Saracens Mavericks’ age-group teams before moving to Cardiff to commence her studies at Cardiff University. She had made a strong impression during her time at Mavericks, winning the Players’ Player award from her Under 19 peers last season. Booth’s achievements for Mavericks brought her to the attention of English national selectors and she was named as a non-travelling reserve for England Under 19s tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2019. Booth will now look to seize her opportunities in the Superleague having signed for Wales’ elite netball franchise. Looking forward to the coming season, Booth said: “I have played most of my pathway franchise netball in Hertfordshire with the Saracens Mavericks. Now, I am so excited to push myself at that top level [with Dragons.] “I am so thrilled to get an opportunity with Celtic Dragons this season and I cannot wait to finally get back on court!” Speaking about Booth’s signing, Director of Netball Tania Hoffman said: “I am really pleased to have Vicky join us this season. She has worked very hard throughout her time in the Mavs’ set-up and she brings the right attitude and work ethic for the Superleague environment. “Vicky is one to watch this coming season and I know that she will learn a lot from our environment and from her team-mates here. I’m confident that Vicky will take full advantage of this new platform to perform and will embrace the challenges of stepping up from elite age group to elite senior netball.” You can keep up to date with all the latest signing window news on our dedicated Transfers page or with our Twitter Moment.
