Manchester Thunder invest in youth

Manchester Thunder have invested in youth utilising their highly successful pathway to make up their training partner group.

The black and yellows have retained the services of centre courters Alicia Scholes, daughter of Manchester United legend Paul Scholes and Ella Standring. While defender Elia McCormick looks to add to her experience and her first league action for Thunder.

Two new additions, filling the spots left by the elevation of Berri Neil and Lois Pearson to the main squad are England U21 defender Millie Sanders and shooter Emilia Roscoe who move up from the under 21 squad.

Manchester Thunder Head Coach and Director of Netball Karen commented: “This training partner group massively excites me, all have worked really hard over the last few years and are products of our top class pathway programme boasting 4 out of 5 of them in the England under 21 programme.”

“Millie Sanders and Emilia Roscoe have taken the opportunity with two hands this season stepping up from our U21 programme having shown they are more than capable of playing at this level.”

“After a solid year as training partners last season, it’s great to have Elia McCormick, Ella Standring and Alicia Scholes back with us they are starting to really mature on the court. All our training partners are super excited at the prospect of working themselves into match days squads and I have the belief in them all that they will more than stand up to the challenge.”
