Goss joined Wasps as a Training Partner from Surrey Storm at the start of this season having previously worked with Wasps’ Head Coach Mel Mansfield at the University of Hertfordshire as her team captain. Candappa will miss the conclusion of Wasps’ VNSL campaign as the mid-court star and her partner, Murray, are expecting their second child. The impending arrival will see Candappa hang up her dress for the rest of the season but she will remain with the team in an off-court leadership role. Mid-court star Candappa made 11 appearances for the two-time champions and impressed heavily at Production Park Studio 001. Goss’ Training Partner spot will be filled by Caroline Tarnowski – formerly of Loughborough Lightning – who is an existing Training Associate at Wasps. Mansfield said: “Congratulations to Sophia and her family. We are delighted for her and are all supporting her through her pregnancy. “Whilst Sophia won’t be playing for the rest of the season, she is a leader on and off the court and her continued presence in the squad will be invaluable. “Leah has been brilliant since she joined us at the start of this season, and we are excited to give her more opportunities to play for the remainder of this campaign.” Amy Flanagan and Fran Williams will now co-captain the squad for the remainder 2021 campaign.
