Surrey Storm have announced that they have have re-signed Ellie Kelk for the 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) campaign.

In her third season with Storm, the exciting young goal attack made her Superleague debut in 2018. Last season, Kelk featured in numerous games after returning from injury and showed her ability on the big stage playing alongside Australian shooter Karyn Bailey.

With the retirement of Bailey – who finished fifth in the Gilbert Top Scorer charts in 2021 – coming at the end of the season, Kelk will look be another weapon in Head Coach Mikki Austin’s attacking artillery.

Delighted to be back, Kelk said: “I’m really excited to be returning for another season, Storm are like a family to me so I am looking forward to getting back to training with the girls and building from last year.

“This season is going to be more competitive than ever so can’t wait to get out there in front of the Storm fans and show everyone what we are capable of.

“It’s been amazing to learn from lots of experienced players the past couple of years and, with this season’s roster, the new signings will definitely add strength to the team.”

Surrey Storm’s Head Coach and Director of Netball, Mikki Austin, added: “I’m really excited to have Ellie Kelk back for her third season with Storm.

“She really gives us versatility within that shooting circle. She offers us both a goal shooter and goal attack role.

“Looking forward to her development as she signed midway through an ACL reconstruction. Now being fully singed off in the midst of a COVID year we saw glimpses of what she can bring to this team.”

Kelk becomes Surrey Storm’s sixth signing of the 2022 Signing Window after Mikki Austin, Yasmin Parsons, Niamh Cooper, Frankie Wells and Emma Magee You can see the Storm squad as it develops here.
