Strathclyde Sirens have announced that Kelly Boyle will return to the squad for the Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) 2022 season.

This will be Boyle’s fourth season with the Scottish outfit and returns having last been in the squad for the 2020 season which was cancelled early due to COVID-19.

Boyle also has experience with the Scottish Thistles and has been part of the national side for many years. She was recently selected for Tamsin Greenway’s Scotland squad.

The versatile mid-courter also represented her country at the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool, making her debut at a major international tournament. Boyle made eight turnovers, two intercepts and nine goal assists at the M&S Bank Arena.

Boyle worked hard to earn her space in the 2022 having not featured last season. She said: “Being a Siren to me means being a part of a team that’s committed, determined and has the belief within one another and their ability to achieve greatness.

“I’m so excited to be a part of the Sirens this season. It’s an opportunity to play against some of the best athletes within our sport. Sirens had an outstanding season last year and I look forward to continuing the momentum into the 21/22 season.”

Strathclyde Sirens Head Coach, Lesley MacDonald, adds: “Kelly is a young, exciting player, who has been training extremely hard to gain her position within the squad as another versatile player.

“Having such a versatile mid court will now allow us to have numerous combinations which will be crucial for the season ahead therefore delighted that Kelly completes our Sirens 2022 squad.”

Boyle becomes Strathclyde Sirens’ tenth signing of the 2022 Signing Window after Towera Vinkhumbo, Emma Barrie, Taylor McKevitt, Gia Abernethy, Bethan Goodwin, Emily Nicholl, Niamh McCall,  Claire Maxwell, Beth Dix and Abby Tyrrell. You can see the Sirens squad as it develops here.
