Celtic Dragons unveil new name - Cardiff Dragons

Seven-time champion Rachel Dunn is returning to the Netball Super League as a replacement player for Celtic Dragons.

After making her return to Celtic Dragons this season, Celtic Dragons have confirmed that Chelsea Beard will miss the rest of the 2023 Netball Super League campaign on medical grounds.

Chelsea came back to Dragons with a bang, winning Player of the Match in her first home game against Team Bath.

With Chelsea being unable to compete for the rest of the season, the Welsh side have announced that her replacement will be former-Wasps player, Rachel Dunn

Rachel Dunn is one of the most recognisable faces in the Netball Super League and has a record-seven NSL titles. She is one of only a handful of players who has played in every NSL season from its inception.

Last season, Dunn played her 250th Netball Super League match and in that season had a 93% shooting accuracy.

As well as being one of the longest-standing athletes playing in the Netball Super League, Rachel debuted for England on the international stage in 2004 and went on to be one of the longest serving players, gaining 92 caps, 3 World Cup Medals and 7 NSL titles.

Dunn is in line to make her Celtic Dragons debut tonight against Surrey Storm live on Sky Sports YouTube.

Her first home game will be for Celtic Dragons’ ‘Show Your International Colours’ round match on Monday 27 March at House of Sport.
