Share Introducing Inside the Circle! A documentary series showcasing the behind-the-scenes activity of some of our Netball Super League (NSL) teams. The series highlights Severn Stars, Manchester Thunder and Strathclyde Sirens, discussing the highs and the lows of player experiences, new-look clubs and a look at what the future could hold. Severn Stars Following a disappointing 2022 season where they finished bottom of the table, 2023 would be a year of revival for Severn Stars under their new Head Coach, Jo Trip. After coming into the role late in the summer, Trip set about putting together a team of players with plenty to prove, that would spring a whole host of surprises this season as they finished a club record of sixth. Their secret? Embracing themselves, each other and everything in between. Back with a bang 💥 Congratulations to @SevernStars‘ Jo Trip who receives the award for NSL Coach of the Season in her debut year as head coach 🏅 What an incredible impact this player-coach has made, helping her side equal their best ever finish in the NSL 👊 pic.twitter.com/vghb2HxPms — Netball Super League (@NetballSL) June 13, 2023 Manchester Thunder After going undefeated on their way to a fourth NSL title, Manchester Thunder were pushed to restructure their squad in Summer 2022, as key players such as Laura Malcolm and Eleanor Cardwell fled the nest. Alongside key import, Lenize Potgieter, Thunder looked to their pathway, recruiting young players who had come through the North West system but had played elsewhere, such as Taylor McKevitt and Iona Christian, to rebuild their team alongside talented youngsters already in their ranks, such as Amy Carter and Lois Pearson. AND WE HAVE DONE IT! What a #NSL2023 season Thank you to @SurreyStorm for a great game. Thank you to all our travelling fans and all of you at home, your support throughout the season has been immense#NSL2023 pic.twitter.com/1jstBkBiUz — Manchester Thunder (@thundernetball) June 11, 2023 Strathclyde Sirens Proudly Scotland’s only NSL team, Strathclyde Sirens hold the nexus of the Thistles squad heading to South Africa this summer. But Sirens also have a proud international thread running through them, with Glasgow often the first point of arrival for a lot of the international talent in the NSL. The journey of how Sirens have grown in lockstep with the national team ahead of the Netball World Cup and the growth of Scottish netball, is one to certainly watch out for. With the 2023 season officially over, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our incredible Sirens Tribe for showing up and supporting us this year 🧜♀️ We could not do this without each and every single person backing us all the way!#SirensTribe #SirensNetball #NSL2023 pic.twitter.com/L5LKDUqVei — Strathclyde Sirens (@SirensNetball) June 27, 2023 You can watch Inside the Circle: Severn Stars on Wednesday 12 July on the NSL YouTube channel with other episodes airing later in the month.
