Share Taken during the Netball Super League game between Saracens Mavericks and Strathclyde Sirens at the Hertfordshire Sports Village, England on 6th May 2023. Round 15 is in the books meaning another Team of the Week is here! Former Netball Super League and international netball legend Sasha Corbin is in the hot seat and has selected her standout seven. Jess Shaw (wing attack) and Michelle Magee (wing defence) have impressed once again and secured places in the side after featuring in Lindsey Chapman’s Team of the Week for Round 14. With 48 feeds and 17 centre pass receives, wing attack Shaw played a key role as Severn Stars moved closer to finishing in the top four for the first time in their history with a thrilling 59-55 victory over Saracens Mavericks. The young Vitality Roses helped Sam Bird’s side extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 59-48 victory over LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons as Tchine shot at 93%, only missing two goals the whole game, and Neil had a flawless performance at 100% success. Bella Baylis carried on her fine form at centre and helped pull the strings as Loughborough Lightning grabbed their first win at the Sir David Wallace Arena since defeat to Manchester Thunder with a 73-56 victory over Strathclyde Sirens. The midcourter showed her composure and strength over the full 60 minutes in the absence of captain Nat Panagarry, providing 20 feeds into the shooting circle. Down in defence, Magee retains her place in the Team of the Week. The wing defence registered one deflection, three pick ups and three gains as well as nine centre pass receives as Leeds Rhinos secured a 63-55 win over Surrey Storm to keep their fifth-place spot in the table. Magee’s teammate Geva Mentor comes into the goal keeper position with her four interceptions and five deflections helping to keep the Storm attack at bay.
