2025 Squad Reveals Wrap Up: Everything you need to know!

After a bumper day of announcements, the eight teams competing in the relaunched Netball Super League (NSL) in 2025 have now revealed their squad lists.

With all players out of contract at the end of the 2024 season ahead of a relaunch of the League in 2025, NSL Clubs have been able to build their squads from scratch, with key players making moves across the League resulting in a dramatic day as fans discovered how their favourite Clubs will line up next year.

We’ve wrapped up all the headlines here, and why not also listen to our special squad announcement episode of Courtside Podcast featuring interviews with all eight Head Coaches, or catch up on each club’s ins and outs on our transfer page.

Key signings include Vitality Rose Berri Neil’s move to join reigning champions Loughborough Lightning after three years at London Pulse. She is joined in Loughborough by fellow new-recruits South African international Shadine van der Merwe, Trinidad and Tobago’s Sammy Wallace-Joseph and former Vitality Rose and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Jodie Gibson, as the three-time champions look to win their third consecutive title.

News also broke today that Australian import Gabrielle Sinclair will be returning to the NSL with new team Birmingham Panthers after a year spent with the Melbourne Mavericks in Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) league. Sinclair played for the LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons in the 2023 NSL seasons, earning herself numerous fans thanks to her slick shooting skills and dynamic attacking movements. Birmingham Panthers fans will look forward to watching her develop a partnership with South African shooter Sigi Burger in the new Club’s shooting circle as she returns to the League next year.

It was also announced that another South African international will be joining the League in 2025, with goal shooter Rolene Streutker signing for Head Coach Chelsea Pitman’s Nottingham Forest Netball squad. She is part of an exciting squad which also features young Vitality Roses duo Jayda Pechova and Tash Pavelin who will be looking to continue to build on the defensive partnership they established over the past two years at Team Bath.

With plenty of exciting new faces entering the NSL, there are also some key players who have made the decision to stay at their 2024 Club. Vitality Roses legend Geva Mentor has signed on for her second year at Leeds Rhinos, who have also retained star shooter Joyce Mvula. With the new signings of Future Roses Ella Bowen and Sophie Egbaran and former Surrey Storm midcourter Beth Brittain, there is an exciting blend of youth and experience in the Leeds Rhinos 2025 squad.

Under new Head Coach Reinga Bloxham, the LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons have retained seven players from their 2024 squad and will be looking to build on their successes last season. Watch out for the defensive partnership of Leah Middleton and Jacqui Newton, which will continue to grow into its second NSL season, and don’t forget that the midcourt has received a boost with the signing of former Team Bath captain and Welsh Feathers star Bethan Dyke.

Meanwhile, there are some exciting changes at the newly rebranded London Mavericks, with Future Rose Isabella Phillips making the move across the capital after a breakthrough season at London Pulse in 2024. With a new Australian influence in the form of Emily Andrew and Chelsea Blackman and the addition of talented mid-courter Amelia Hall from Leeds Rhinos boosting a notoriously successful defensive end, it is clear that London Mavericks mean business in 2025.

London Pulse also shared a statement squad with fans today, revealing the signing of Tyler Orr, former Adelaide Thunderbirds player. Orr enters the NSL straight after winning the SSN title in 2024 and will be one to watch as she looks to make her mark on the League. Future Rose Sophie Kelly also joins the London side in a move that provides the exciting opportunity to develop a new connection with Vitality Roses shooting star Liv Tchine.

And finally, Manchester Thunder revealed a strong squad, making some key changes following a successful NSL 2024 season in which they narrowly missed out on lifting the trophy. Thunder have retained a number of the stars who carried them all the way to the Grand Final in 2024, including Vitality Roses Nat Metcalf, Lois Pearson, Amy Carter and Paige Reed. They have also added the defensive power of Nicola Smith, who makes the move to the North West based side after winning the League title with Loughborough Lightning last year.
