Share Ahead of the new season, it’s time to take a look at a few rules and regulations for the new season. We have picked answers to some of the most frequently asked questions and where there are differences to 2019. Team / squad information Squad size is between 10-15 players. Teams must have 10 registered players and can have up to 5 training partners. Teams can select up to 10 players for their matchday squad. This is different to 2019 where teams could pick 12 for their matchday squad. Teams are permitted up to 2 overseas players, however, a team can’t have more than 1 overseas player in the attacking, midcourt or defensive positions on court at any one time. There is a salary cap for the competition, all teams must adhere to these regulations, these include: – Salary cap which each team must abide by. – The salary cap figures apply to nine of the ten registered players, the exception is the highest value player who is determined as a marquee player. – There are sanctions in place for any team that breaches the salary cap regulations. – The five training partners have their own salary cap regulations. Competition Structure 3 points awarded for a win and 0 for a loss in all matches All matches must be played to a result. If scores are tied at the end of the fourth quarter, extra time is played, which comprises of a four-minute break following the final quarter and then two seven min halves with a one-minute interval between the halves. The team with the most goals after this will be declared the winner. If scores are still tied, play will continue until a team goes 2 goals ahead, at which point they will be declared the winner The league table will determine each team’s standings. At the end of the season the top 4 progress through to the semi-finals. If 2 or more teams are level on points, the following shall determine who shall be ranked higher: Goal difference (goals scored – goals conceded) Goals scored For the semi-finals, 1st position host 4th position and 2nd position host 3rd The winners of these matches then contest in the Grand Final to be crowned Superleague champions.
