Share Vitality Netball SuperLeague Opener 2020 Shooting star Lynsey Gallagher re-signs to Strathclyde Sirens for another Vitality Netball Superleague season (VNSL). Gallagher returns to the main squad of 10 in what will be her fourth season as a fully-fledged VNSL player after graduating from a training partner. The goal attack made three appearances for the Glasgow outfit in the short 2020 season, scoring 55 goals in total. Gallagher also has a wealth of experience at international level having been part of the Scotland set-up for more than a decade. The 28-year-old made her Scottish Thistles debut at the age of just 17. Gallagher went onto play in two Netball World Youth Cups in 2009 and – as captain – in 2013, achieving the Players’ Player of the Tournament accolade in the latter. Gallagher said: “It’s been a long time coming and I’m so excited to get back to training with the girls – and not training by myself. “We were really starting to build some momentum and we were really excited to see where our season would go. “We were gutted when we got that call before the Celtic Dragons game that our season was being cut short, but we’re ready to hit the ground running and pick up from where we left off.” This is Sirens’ fourth signing of the 2021 signing window. The announcement of Gallagher’s retention follows the news that captain Gia Abernethy, Claire Maxwell, Niamh McCall, Taylor Cullen and Emily Nicholl.
