Share Vitality Netball SuperLeague Opener 2020 Bethan Goodwin has re-signed for Strathclyde Sirens, after a promising start to 2020 the University of Strathclyde Sports Scholar has confirmed she will return to Glasgow next season. Goodwin will be reunited with Lynsey Gallagher in the shooting circle following the confirmation that she will also return to the Emirates Arena. In the last game before the 2020 season was cut short Goodwin and Gallager headed up the Sirens attack as they beat Surrey Storm 61-53 with Goodwin shooting at 91%. Goodwin said: “It’s been really hard not being able to see or train with the girls but we’ve worked hard to stay connected online through our Zoom training and now looking forward to getting back on court. It was gutting having the season cut short especially with the momentum we were building, but we will build on last seasons performances and hit the ground running in pre-season. Having already gained a wealth of experience, notably her four years competing in the Vitality Netball Superleague, 2017 Netball World Youth Cup, 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2019 Netball World Cup. Bethan is in her final year studying Accounting and Finance and is looking forward to a busy year ahead juggling her dissertation and playing career. Goodwin will also be entering her final year of university and commented her support network balancing elite sport and her degree “Heading into my dissertation year this year it’s going to be super busy, but I’ve got incredible support from the University of Strathclyde and Sirens to see me through.
