Share Four Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) 2021 players have been included in the latest Roses Academy squad. Arabella Baylis of Saracens Mavericks, Isabelle Eaton of Severn Stars, Sophie Kelly of Surrey Storm, and Megan Thorne of Wasps have all been selected. The quartet – who are all members of their club’s senior 2021 squad – are joined by 25 more players who all represent VNSL sides at youth level. The selection for the 2021 Roses Academy took place this past weekend at Loughborough University. The selected athletes will attend camps in May and July with the aim to be selected for competitive competition in July. I look forward to seeing them all develop in their franchises over the next couple of months. “This new selected group of athletes will face another camp in May before a competition in July, and the team and I look forward to this next part of the Roses Academy 2021.” The Roses Academy long squad was first selected in December 2020 allowing more athletes than ever before, the opportunity to experience the Roses Academy programme. The group trained together virtually and had access to educational sessions on Zoom throughout lockdown, as well as coming together for a day camp in March.
