Strathclyde Sirens have announced that Taylor McKevitt – formerly Cullen – will head into her third season with Strathclyde Sirens in 2022. The wing defence first joined the Scottish outfit for the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) season and has made a seismic impression on the team from the mid-court. McKevitt was a force to be reckoned with last season and won Player of the Match in Sirens’ second outing of the campaign against Severn Stars. She made 23 intercepts, 29 deflections and 31 turnovers last term. McKevitt played a large part in helping Sirens to their best-ever finish of sixth in 2021. The 22-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the young side having been one of London Pulse’s first players before the move to Sirens. Prior to that she won five NPL titles with Manchester Thunder, a Premier Division 1 with Oldham Netball Club, and Netball Europe (U19) for England. “I’m really excited to be back with Sirens again this year. We had such a great season last year and I’m thankful to have the opportunity again to keep building with this team and push for top four,” she said. Sirens Head Coach, Lesley MacDonald, is delighted the defender has re-signed: “Taylor had a tremendous 2nd season with the Sirens therefore I am delighted she has signed for a third,” she said. “A tenacious player, with a relentless work rate and graft for the team, she has been essential in developing the strong defensive unit. I am looking forward to seeing her development over the season both on and off the court and have another stellar season.” McKevitt becomes Strathclyde Sirens’ third signing of the 2022 Signing Window after Towera Vinkhumbo and Emma Barrie.
