Parsons first wore the duck egg blue in 2015 and joined coach Mikki Austin in being a member of Storms 2016 Superleague winning squad. Re-signing with Storm, Parsons commented “I am super excited to be playing my seventh season with Storm. The club has developed me as a player both technically and tactically and as a leader. “This team believes in dedication, relentlessness and supporting one another and that’s what I’m all about. It was an easy decision to put pen to paper again for another season with this incredible team.” Northern Ireland international Cooper shares the same passion for the club and was delighted to sign. “I’m so excited to be back at Storm for a third season. I love everything about Storm, the team are like a family away from home for me and we all know our fans are the best in the league,” she said. Cooper representing Northern Ireland in the upcoming common wealth games enjoys the competition the VNSL brings leading into a big summer next year. “2022 is a huge year for us! It’s always an honour to represent Northern Ireland and with lots of changes since the Vitality World Cup in 2019. “Training with and playing against the top players in VNSL every week is the best preparation I could ask for – It’s going to be busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Last season was a real test for the players and staff not having the fans to spur the team forward in crunch moments. Fan favourite Parsons commented: “I’m ready to welcome back our eighth player and I think the Storm fans are ready to burst through those doors. “Their consistent support has been valuable to us and their dedication to supporting us behind the scenes and online has meant the world. I believe with their support in the crowds it will help our momentum to change the placings this year.” With new signings coming in this season, the two mid-courters have faith in the off season work Head Coach Mikki Austin has put in. Cooper commented: “I trust in the vision Mikki has for Storm and I’m buzzing to get the chance to prove we are a team that can compete against championship winning sides.” Parsons added: “She’s done a great job and I’m excited to be playing with such talent. The new signings will add to the strength of this team. Watch out Storm fans, brace yourself for some exciting announcements.” Parsons and Copper become Surrey Storm’s second and third signings of the 2022 Signing Window after Mikki Austin.
