Netball Super League | Where to Watch: Round 18

In a week that has seen Jess Thirlby name the Vitality Roses who will be flying to South Africa for the Netball World Cup, attention for those selected turns back to the Netball Super League (NSL).

There are three live games taking place this week. It all starts with Friday Night Netball, live on Sky Sports.

Surrey Storm vs. Loughborough Lightning

First up, two of the top four go head-to-head at the Surrey Sports Park as Surrey Storm welcome Loughborough Lightning.

This is Storm’s last game of the season and Mikki Austin’s side will need a win to keep hopes alive of a home semi-final.

But Lightning come into this game in a rich vein of form having won their last seven matches.

Storm defender Layla Guscoth will be flying out to South Africa with England in July alongside Lightning Goal Defender Fran Williams who could make her 100th NSL appearance this evening. Sophie Drakeford-Lewis has also been selected as a travelling reserve.

Leeds Rhinos vs. Team Bath

From one end of the table to the other, on Saturday, Leeds Rhinos take on Team Bath.

After playing three of the top four in recent weeks, Rhinos will be hoping they can finish the season strong and pick up points from the teams around them. Goal Keeper Vicki Oyesola is enjoying her best season in a Rhinos dress and could be pivotal to keeping Bath at bay.

Last weekend 19-year-old Phoebe Malsen made her home debut for the Blue and Gold and picked up the Gilbert Player of the Match award for her valiant display against Manchester Thunder.

Meanwhile, teammate Imogen Allison has been selected for her first Netball World Cup with England.

Saracens Mavericks vs. Team Bath

Finally, on Monday, two of the league’s founding members do battle as Saracens Mavericks welcome Team Bath for their second game of the weekend.

Earlier today, Sasha Corbin announced that she will be retiring at the end of the 2023 season, capping off an incredible 18-year career.

The four-time NSL champion will play in front of her home crowd for the final time against one of her former sides and her sister, Kadeen Corbin.
