Severn Stars complete roster for 2024 Netball Super League season

Following a record-equalling sixth-place finish in 2023, Jo Trip has retained half of her squad from last season. This includes star shooter Sigi Burger who finished as the fourth-highest scorer in the league with 672 goals and Jess Saw, who registered the second-most assists in the league with 513.

They’ll be joined in the attacking line-up Lefébre Rademan, formerly of Celtic Dragons and London Pulse, who was called up to the South Africa Proteas squad for the Netball World Cup, 10 months after tearing her ACL, and Wales International and Team Bath’s top scorer from last season, Betsy Creak.

Three players from three of the top four teams in 2023 have also made the switch to the Worcester-based franchise. Midcourter Suzie Liverseidge joins from the reigning champions Loughborough Lightning; she’ll be joined in the middle by former London Pulse player and Future Rose Ashleigh Dekker as well as Niamh Cooper from Surrey Storm. With 2023 captain Gabby Marshall also returning, Stars have a number of strong options in the middle of the court.

Jo Trip will continue in her Player-Coach role heading into the 2024 season and will reunite with Rebekah Airey and Jasmine Brown in a strong defensive unit. They’ll be joined in addition by Ella Powell-Davies from Cardiff Dragons. The versatile defender developed a strong partnership with Shaquanda Greene-Noel who has decided to focus on her business and Masters degree.

2023 NSL Coach of the Year Jo Trip commented: “What a line up we have for 2024! I am super excited and a little overwhelmed to be leading this incredible group of athletes this season.

“The goal is to continue taking Stars to new heights and I believe we have the team to do so! Looking forward to what’s to come!”

Stars have also confirmed their three training partners with Jess Haynes, Ruth Hughes and Lily Smith all returning for 2024.
