Share Round 14 has been ticked off which means another Team of the Week is on the cards. This week, pundit and presenter Lindsey Chapman has chosen her standout seven following round 14’s action. Chapman’s attacking unit proves to be a strong one this week, with Sigi Burger, Lois Pearson and Jess Shaw all having standout games across the weekend. Burger and Shaw of Severn Stars came out on top in their game against Surrey Storm on Saturday evening, with Burger shooting at 98%, only missing one goal the whole game. Shaw also impressed Chapman, making 51 feeds to her attacking counterparts as well as receiving 14 centre passes. Shooting at 89% in the goal attack position, whilst also making 12 feeds and picking up one rebound, the young star also scooped up the Experience Kissimmee Player of the Match award for her efforts. 🏐 89% shooting stats 🤌 12 feeds 💪 1 rebound Congratulations to @loisepearson_x on being tonight’s @Kissimmee Player of the Match 🏅#NSL2024 | #SeeUsNow pic.twitter.com/KMdzX4lS0P — Netball Super League (@NetballSL) May 17, 2024 Pearson’s teammate Imogen Allison also earned her spot in this week’s selection. A superstar in the centre position, Allison provided her fellow Thunder players with feeds galore as well as picking up some crucial turnovers for her side in the first half. Down in defence, Leeds Rhinos’ wing defence Michelle Magee comes into this week’s team off the back of an impressive performance at the weekend. Magee took home two deflections, one pick up and one gain whilst also receiving five centre passes for her side. London Pulse’s Funmi Fadoju comes into this week’s team for an impressive ninth time so far this season. Helping to get her side another win on Friday night meant that Pulse qualified for the semi-finals. Fadoju took 10 gains, six deflections and three pick-ups to award her side the win and qualification. Vicki Oyesola comes into the goal keeper position this week, with Chapman saying she had a stunning performance in commentary on Friday night. Oyesola worked for the full 60 minutes for her team, winning ball when crucial so her shooters could add more points to the board. Blink and you’ll miss it 👀 🤌 A quick transition from turnover to goal for @SaracensMavs means they slot another goal, inching closer to the opposition. #NSL2024 | #SeeUsNow pic.twitter.com/2asg6tsB2l — Netball Super League (@NetballSL) May 17, 2024 Lindsey said: “With three teams now locked in for the semi-finals, the race for 4th place is on. It’s no time for the top teams to relax if they want to secure a home semi-final and it makes the middle of the table really interesting. Stars are pushing as they have all season but there’s still a way to go. You don’t want to miss a moment!” You can read about the rest of the action from round 14 here.
