Vitality Netball Super League

Tamsin Greenway says her side need “one more win” to secure a Final Four spot this season in the Vitality Netball Superleague.

Wasps Netball have a Bank Holiday double-header to look forward to this weekend, facing the challenge of playing two games in the space of three days.

Greenway’s team begin the weekend with a short trip up the M69 to take-on league-leaders Loughborough Lightning on Saturday, 29 April, (7.00pm centre-pass) before returning to the Ricoh Arena to face Severn Stars on Monday, 1 May (6.00pm centre-pass).

Wasps currently sit in second position in the Superleague, with a 12 point advantage over Team Bath in fifth place.

Loughborough Lightning took home all three points in the reverse fixture, winning all of their 11 games so far this season.

Director of Wasps Netball Greenway says it will be a big test for her team and a clear indicator of what they need to work on in the coming weeks.

She said: “It will be a really good test for our team, they’re playing really well and of course they are the team to beat right now.

“We’ll have a good look at them heading into this game, but we’re very focused on what we’re going to do and making sure we’re ready for semi-final time.

“Loughborough can carry on doing their thing and we’ll carry on doing ours, after all, we might meet again in June.”

Wasps will have one day to recover before facing Severn Stars at the Ricoh Arena on Monday evening.

Wasps came out on top last time the two teams met, but since then Stars have secured some big wins, including an impressive victory against Surrey Storm live on Sky Sports.

Greenway added: “The biggest thing for us is getting into the top four. I doubt the chasing pack will be able to reach us if we get one more win under our belt.”

Wasps Netball’s U21 team will also play on Bank Holiday Monday at the Ricoh Arena, centre-pass is at 3.00pm for the clash with Severn Stars U21s.

The Wasps Fan Village, in the Ericsson Indoor Arena, will be open from 2.45pm before the game, with fans encouraged to dress up as their favourite movie stars as part of the ‘Night With The Stars’ theme.

Tickets for Wasps Netball vs Severn Stars on Monday, 1 May start from £10 for adults while under-10s go free, and can be purchased from www.waspsnetball.co.uk/tickets
