Where to watch: Round 18

As the final round of the regular season approaches, find out all the vital information about where to watch and follow the action over the next few days here.

After an exciting round 17, it’s time to look ahead to what is to come in round 18.

All five games are taking place at the same time on Saturday 15 June. Loughborough Lightning versus Severn Stars will be broadcast by Sky Sports whilst fans can watch the LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons take on Team Bath on BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer.

Strathclyde Sirens will also be showcasing their last home match against Surrey Storm on YouTube.

Loughborough Lightning v Severn Stars – First Centre Pass at 18:00 Saturday 15 June

Loughborough Lightning host other top-four side Severn Stars at the Sir David Wallace Arena in Loughborough this Saturday evening. The last time these two sides met back in round nine, Lightning took the win, but will history repeat itself or will Stars be on the hunt for revenge?

Loughborough Lightning Player to Watch:

Beth Cobden had a standout performance last weekend against London Pulse. Earning her 150th cap for the club, she also made her way into Serena Kersten’s Team of the Week following round 17. Picking up one interception, five deflections and two gains, the defender will certainly have to keep on her toes against Stars’ Jess Shaw this weekend.

Severn Stars Player to Watch:

As mentioned above, Jess Shaw also had an impressive round 17 campaign, earning a spot in Kersten’s selection in the wing attack position. Her powerful feeds to her shooting counterparts is what impressed Kersten and will definitely be one to watch this weekend.

LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons v Team Bath Netball – First Centre Pass at 18:00 Saturday 15 June

LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons return to the Utilita Arena in Cardiff for their second arena game of the season. Taking on Team Bath in the branded fixtures of ‘The Battle of the Bridge’, fans can expect a great match-up between these two teams. The last time they met in round nine, Dragons took the victory on the road. Now on home turf, will they be able to do the double?

LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons Player to Watch:

Goal shooter Georgia Rowe has had an impressive few weeks dominating the shooting circle. Despite a loss to Leeds Rhinos last weekend, Rowe managed an average percentage of 89%, supporting her goal attack, Phillipa Yarranton, with collecting rebounds as well as deflections. She will definitely be one to keep your eye on this weekend.

Team Bath Player to Watch:

Young defending talent Jayda Pechova had a fantastic round 17 performance against Severn Stars, picking up three deflections, one interception, two pick-ups and one gain. Her elevation in the circle will definitely aid her success this weekend when it comes to Rowe’s height.

Strathclyde Sirens v Surrey Storm – First Centre Pass at 18:00 Saturday 15 June

Strathclyde Sirens will mark their final ever home game in the Netball Super League against Surrey Storm on Saturday evening. Being showcased on their YouTube channel, fans will be able to tune in to witness all the action live from 18:00.

Strathclyde Sirens Player to Watch:

With an impressive season in at goal attack, Sammy Ngubane will be one to watch this weekend against Storm. Her quick movements in attack and prolific shooting capabilities will certainly be one for Storm to pay close attention to. Having featured in several Team of the Week’s across the season, Ngubane will be hoping her performance on Saturday will be up there with one of her best.

Surrey Storm Player to Watch:

After shooting at 100% last weekend against Saracens Mavericks, Sophie Drakeford-Lewis’s talents will be one to watch this weekend for the final time in duck-egg blue. Her connection with partner Proscovia Peace-Nwokocha is second to none – the goal attack also managed to take one pick-up and one gain in last weekend’s match so her defending skills, as well as her shooting success, will definitely catch the eye.

The rest of the round

On top of our broadcast games, there are two/three more matches taking place this round that you can buy tickets to watch live or follow the action on X.

Strathclyde Sirens host Surrey Storm at 6pm on Saturday in what will be both teams’ last-ever NSL game. Emotions are sure to be high with both teams keen to end their chapter in the NSL on a high.

Also on Saturday, a local rivalry is reignited between Saracens Mavericks and London Pulse. After a big win against Storm last weekend, Mavericks will be taking that victory through to this weekend, hoping to make it two on the bounce.

Finally, at the same time on Saturday, another local derby will play out, with Leeds Rhinos hosting Manchester Thunder.
