Netball Super League | Panagarry named Lightning captain, with Cobden and Joseph as vice-captains

Defending champions Loughborough Lightning have named Nat Panagarry as captain ahead of the 2025 Netball Super League season.

Heading into her 13th season in the NSL, Panagarry has been an integral part of the Lightning squad since joining the club back in 2015 and has played a key role in their three title wins (2021, 2023 and 2024).

She’s joined in the club’s leadership group by Beth Cobden and Hannah Joseph who share the responsibility of being vice-captain.

Cobden brings a wealth of NSL experience to the role, having won the competition five times (2012,2014, 2021, 2023 and 2023) and is heading into her eighth year with Lightning, either side of a spell in Australia.

Joseph has also been a key member of the club’s successful run and is one of the longest serving members of the squad, heading into her 15th season with the club. Like Panagarry and Cobden, Joseph boasts multiple NSL titles having lifted the trophy in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Lightning’s season gets underway in Sheffield on Saturday 8 March as they take part in the Netball Super Cup.

A week later they travel to Manchester Thunder for round one of the NSL season, in a repeat of last season’s Grand Final. The game is being held at the AO Arena in what is the seventh AO Netball Manchester Live, with both club’s NXT Gen sides will be in action prior to the NSL game.
