Share Surrey Storm Netball fans’ favourite Katy Holland has put pen to paper to re-sign for the 2018 Vitality Netball Superleague season. Holland, who can play in both the GD and GK positions, will also take over the role as Team Captain following the announcement that Naida Hutchinson has retired from professional netball. Having been ever-present in the Storm squad since the 2011 season, Holland is one of the club’s top appearance record holders and was part of the side that won back-to-back Superleague championships in 2015 and 2016. She is also a graduate of the Storm NPL setup and an example of the strong youth setup that Surrey has had since the club formed in 2009. After signing Holland said: “I am very pleased to re-sign for Storm for the 2018 season, which will be my 7th season in duck egg blue! “I am proud to have been appointed Captain and am looking forward to being part of this season’s team, working together in the traditional ‘Storm way’, with your continued amazing support.” Holland is the first player to agree terms for the 2018 season, with more player announcements due in the coming weeks.
