Netball Super League | Wasps Netball secure Knights, Clarke and Dunn for 2020 season

Wasps Netball have secured the services of Hannah Knights, Jade Clarke and Rachel Dunn for the 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

Knights will captain the side once again this term while Clarke will take vice-captaincy duties. Dunn returns for what will be her 15th Superleague season.

Knights, who plays at goal keeper or goal defence, joined the Midlands outfit from Surrey Storm in 2016. The four-time Superleague champion has evolved into a key leadership figure at the Ricoh Arena and is talisman in the defence.

Mid-court star Jade Clarke has joined her captain in penning another deal with the franchise. Clarke, the Vitality Roses’ most-capped player, switched Adelaide Thunderbirds for Wasps in 2018 and was key to her side’s back-to-back titles.

Clarke was among the highest in the league for interceptions last term and went onto enjoy a successful Vitality Netball World Cup campaign with her country this summer.

Her international teammate Rachel Dunn has also committed her immediate future to Wasps Netball. Dunn has proven a consistent performer for her side since her arrival in 2016 and racked up her 200th league appearance in 2019.

Dunn’s sharpshooting and composure meant she finished as the second-highest goal scorer in the regular season and was awarded the Vitality Player of the Season accolade.

The experienced trio are Wasps’ first official signings of the VNSL transfer window as the Black and Golds look to build a squad ready for the Vitality Netball Superleague Season Opener in February.
