Sirens snap up Boyle and secure South African World Cup star for 2020

Pocket rocket Kelly Boyle returns to the Scottish side for a third Vitality Netball Superleague season. As well as being a familiar face in the Sirens line-up, Kelly has also represented in the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup in Botswana and the recent 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

Kelly said: “I cannot wait for the Strathclyde Sirens to consistently put our performances that our fans, friends and family can be proud of. This team has so much talent and I believe this season we are going to showcase what we’re capable of!

“Being a Siren to me means being a part of a team that’s committed, determined and has the belief within one another and their ability to achieve greatness.”

Sirens have also announced that Zanele Vimbela, South African International, will represent the Strathclyde Sirens in the 2020 version of the Vitality Netball Superleague. Zanele made her full international debut at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014 and has found her way back to Scottish soil, this time competing in the Vitality Netball Superleague. Zanele previously represented Team Bath in the VNSL, and her another notable netball moments involve being a part of the South African squad at the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup achieving their highest ever ranking of 4th place, competing at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and winning the Diamond Challenge in 2018.

Zanele said: “I’m delighted to have signed with Sirens, as it’s an exciting prospect for me to be able to bring my abilities and skills to contribute to the team, hopefully reaching higher goals that we set out to achieve.

“Being a Siren means to be absolutely fearless and bring out the best in each of us as a team.”
