Player Bio
Chelsea Beard is set to continue her storied career by returning to the Netball Super League in 2025.
The Merthyr Tydfil native is back in the green of LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons two years after becoming a mum for the third time.
Beard added a baby girl to her young family of husband Adam - a rugby player who has represented Wales - and two boys.
She credits her husband and her parents with helping her get back on the court having taken time away from netball for the second time.
Beard’s NSL debut came for Dragons, then known as Celtic Dragons, in 2010 and she also played for Team Bath before returning to Wales for the 2023 season.
The goal shooter and goal attack has also played around the world, jetting over to New Zealand to play for Netball Waitakere.
A 70-cap Wales international, Beard became the youngest Welsh Feather to reach 50 senior caps in 2015 when she was just 21.
Beard has represented her country at two World Cups and two Commonwealth Games.
She made her senior Wales debut aged 17, playing against Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier before playing her first World Cup a year later in Singapore.
