Player Bio
Elia McCormick has been a prominent member of Manchester Thunder’s defensive line-up since making her way through the club’s pathway system in 2021.
The 25-year-old stands at 184cm tall and can operate comfortably at goal keeper, goal defence and wing defence.
The defender secured a full-time contract in 2022 following a strong debut year in the NSL, but an unfortunate pre-season ACL injury wiped out that season for her.
McCormick did not let her injury stop her and bravely battled back to return to the court in 2023 demonstrating her resilience in bucket loads.
On the international front, McCormick was rewarded for her post-injury club form with a place on the England Future Roses programme in June 2024.
She will be hoping to continue her impressive displays during the 2025 campaign as Thunder look to challenge in the new era of the NSL. McCormick is an advocate of others getting involved in netball and hopes to inspire young people to take up the sport.
