Emily Andrew is determined to make the shooting circle her own in her debut Netball Super League season.
The Australian shooter is one of a host of exciting new recruits to the league from Down Under in 2025, with Andrew joining London Mavericks.
Andrew has taken the leap of moving to London to progress her netball to the next level after spending last season as a training partner with Melbourne Vixens in Suncorp Super Netball.
“I’m pumped to do something different with my netball and see another part of the world,” said Andrew.
Andrew is a formidable attacker with the ability to play as both a holding and moving shooter.
This caught the eye of Tamsin Greenway, Director of Netball at London Mavericks, who revealed shooters like Andrew are hard to come by.
“You’re either going to go for a target shooter or a moving shooter, but what excites me about Emily is that she can do both,” said Greenway.
“She’s got this unique ability to stand and hold and be a dominant force in the circle, but she can also move and offload, creating space and working in an open circle.”
She was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2023 Australian Netball Championships where she demonstrated 93% shooting accuracy and was subsequently called up to the 2023-34 Australian U21 squad.
Andrew previously played for and captained the Southern Saints in the Victorian Netball League and was named in the VNL’s 2023 Championship Team of the Year.
Outside of netball, Andrew was studying a double degree in Design and Business at Monash University in Melbourne.
