Player Bio

Gabby Marshall is the beating heart of Birmingham Panthers.

The centre was one of head coach Jo Trip’s first signings as she built inaugural Panthers squad, with the pair rekindling the connection they built at Severn Stars.

Marshall was captain for both of Trip’s seasons at Stars, where she led the franchise to an historic play-off finish in 2024, and the mid-courter once again takes on the role of leader at Panthers.

The Mancunian’s two years at Stars proved pivotal in helping to turn her career around after surgery on both her ankles and release from Saracens Mavericks left her questioning her future career on the netball court.

“I would never have imagined it would have turned out quite like this,” she said.

“It absolutely reignited my love for the sport, at a time when it would have been easy for me to stop playing Super League netball."

Marshall came through the Manchester Thunder pathway, playing for Oldham Netball Club, and  made her Super League debut in 2013 before joining Saracens Mavericks.

Internationally, Marshall earned her first cap for the Vitality Roses in 2017 after a prestigious youth career for England.

Marshall captained England to bronze at the 2017 Netball Youth World Cup in Botswana and to gold at the 2017 Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne.

Off the court, Marshall has a physiotherapy degree and is an avid Everton FC fan.
