Player Bio
Gabby Coffey is out to make her mark in her debut Netball Super League season.
The Australian defender signed for new franchise Birmingham Panthers ahead of the 2025 season, following four seasons as a training partner at Melbourne Vixens.
Coffey grew up in Alice Springs before moving to Melbourne as a teenager to pursue her netball dreams via a scholarship.
She continued to progress through the ranks in Victoria, combining netball with a degree in Communication and Media Studies at Melbourne University.
After graduating, Coffey worked for the Australian Football League before moving to the UK to play for Panthers.
Coffey has Indigenous heritage and is a proud Wiradjuri woman. She is passionate about improving opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to get involved in sport.
The defender has also represented the First Nations Black Swans team at the Australian National Championships.
“When you come from somewhere like Alice Springs, you grow up and you play in the leagues there, you see how talented the girls are from there, and you wonder why no one is on the big stage,” she told Netball Australia.
Internationally, Coffey was called up to the Australian Under 21 side but was unable to represent her nation at the World Youth Cup because of the cancellation of the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
