Player Bio
Joyce Mvula returns for a second season with Leeds Rhinos in 2025.
The superstar goal shooter is one of the most electrifying players on the court and is a two-time champion of the Netball Super League with Manchester Thunder.
Mvula began playing netball at the age of 13 and became the first Malawian to feature in the Super League after being spotted by Thunder scouts at the 2015 World Cup.
Since then, Mvula has wasted no time in establishing herself as one of the league's standout players, helping Thunder to the 2019 title and an unbeaten 2022 triumph and paving the way for a wave of Malawian talent to make their way to British shores.
The likes of Towera Vinkhumbo, Takondwa Lwazi, Caroline Mtukule and Loreen Ngwira all following in Mvula's footsteps.
In 2023, Mvula moved to New Zealand to play for Central Pulse before returning to England with Rhinos, where she scored 667 goals in her debut season in Yorkshire and was named Players' Player of the Year and Coaches' Player of the Year.
On the international front, Mvula made her debut for Malawi in 2010, and has represented the East African nation in four World Cups.
