Player Bio
Khanyisa Chawane is returning for her second Netball Super League season with LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons.
The mid-courter impressed in 2024 and will look to build on that campaign and continue to grow her influence in the midcourt.
She returns to the NSL with the added prestige of being named captain of South Africa last year.
Chawane, who is known to most as KC, made her Proteas debut in 2018, and has gone on to represent South Africa at two World Cups, including 2023 on home soil.
She has now amassed more than 80 international caps and first led the team in October 2024.
Chawane’s first taste of the NSL came in 2020 when she played for Team Bath in a Covid-disrupted season before completing a first full campaign with Dragons last year.
Off the court, Chawane is a huge football fan and had dreams of playing professionally before netball took over.
The Tzaneen native has an interest in supporting those from underprivileged communities who do not have access to netball.
In South Africa, Chawane was recognised at the Free State Sports Awards as the People’s Choice Sports Star of the Year for 2024.
